The first step in getting strong, is to stop getting weak!
We all know that we are supposed to exercise. Experts tell us all the time that we should be getting plenty of exercise. But for some reason, it is difficult to get ourselves to do it. Many people go to great lengths in search of motivation, including joining gym memberships and accountability groups. Even people who love to exercise often find it difficult to carve out the time to do it. Why is it so hard? Maybe because humans aren't meant to "exercise". We are meant to MOVE, and exercise is usually our attempt at making up for a lack of general movement—for living an overall sedentary lifestyle. In our modern culture, we have outsourced much of the work that our body should be doing at simple tasks every day, to other things such as furniture and overly supportive shoes. Because we’ve outsourced this work, our bodies are becoming weak and dependent. Putting excessive stress on tissues unused to regular loads (which often happens while "exercising"), can lead to injury which will counteract the intended good.
Our current cultural systems have encouraged, and sometimes required us to be sedentary (school, work, worship services, etc). It has become ingrained in our minds and affected every aspect of our lives. The consequential habits result in poor alignment, which in turn often lead to pains, disfunction, and even disease. My family and I have learned that we can make small habit changes, even within these cultural systems, that can make a large impact in our health.
My family and I realized that we have outsourced much of our natural movement, and we are working to reclaim it. My goal with this website is to document our journey and give you the resources we've found to be helpful in our efforts to reclaim our movement. I hope that you and your family will join with me in reclaiming your movement as well!

Movement Is Life!
My wife and I were recently watching a webinar about healing cancer by Chris Wark. In one of the modules he said that movement is the signal to the body to live. I’ve had similar thoughts but I really liked the way it was articulated. The more I thought about it, the more I liked it. While […]
Not all Competition is Created Equal

Comfort Kills
My wife and I bought a “fixer-upper” home in the country.
